| Well I have been putting together a buch of systems that have been the endless source of troubles. We got a whole bunch of Windows based intellistations (like 30) that have a DVI output video adapter. Well since most people don't have a digital monitor we have been scrambleing to find a !!!!CHEAP as in real cheap!!!! solution. The one half solution I have run into is we also ahve about 200 IBM GXT2000P adapters for RS/6000 and pSeries systems. Well I dropped one of the GXT2000P into a PCI slot on the Intell mother board. Loaded up the PCI bridge drivers and low an behold the system calls the GXT2000P a ATI Fire GL! card. The only problem I have now is that I a can't display anyting at above 640X400 resolution and any more colors than 16. I have been doing some research and have found that the current Fire GL1 drivers when used on a GXT2000P Seems to loose most of it's memory. Does any one know if anyone has come up with a new driver for Windows for these puppies????? |
