I have AIX 5.2 installed on p5-615 with 2 ethernet adapters. Once for 10/100 network and other for 10/100/1000 network. We just upgrade our switch to gigabit network and try to use gigabit adapter. Unforenately, the switch detect it as 100 connection, even lost. How do i fix this problem?so, my adapter operate properly and the switch detect it as gigabit adapter. hereis my config $ oslevel -r 5200-00 $ lsdev |grep ent ent0 Available 1L-08 10/100 Mbps Ethernet PCI Adapter II (1410ff01) ent1 Available 1j-08 10/100/1000 Base-TX PCI-X Adapter (14106902) $ ifconfig -a en0: <UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST ,GROUPRT,64BIT,CHECKSUM_OFFLOAD,PSEG,CHAIN> en1: <UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST ,GROUPRT,64BIT,CHECKSUM_OFFLOAD,PSEG,CHAIN> lo0: <UP,BROADCAST,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST,G ROUPRT,64BIT> -Neve- |

what media speed is your ent1 adapter set to? run an lsattr -El ent1 and make sure that the media speed is not set to 100_Full_Duplex. If it is set to Auto_Negotiate, you may have to change it to 1000_Full_Duplex |

I do not believe setting the adapter to 1000_Full_duplex is an option in 5.2. If you want gig speed, ensure that the speed and duplex is set to Auto negotiate on your adapter and your switch port. |

Exactly, Hess. There are no 1000 option, only 10 or 100 option available. I've set to auto_negotiation and my switch ready for gigabit, but it still not working. Any other solution? $ lsattr -El ent1 |grep speed media_speed Auto_Negotiation Media speed True |
