hi friends, I have 2 aix box. both box are connected to External storage. When i do export/import vg on 2nd server i have to modify /etc/filesystems file everytime to change the order of mounting. what can i do to avoid this thing..I cam to know that when we do importvg lvs are activated as per the lvid. but could not find the method to change it.. pls guide.. Ritesh |

The simple reply would be The best way to do this is make sure you have a copy of the /etc/filesystems file that you can just copy back when you have done with the import. But here is a problem The fact that you are asking this tells me that your area mountfilesystems on top of other filesystems. This is never a good plan, I can only recommend to you that mount over other filesystem is bad administration of you system and this may have to be some thing for you to look into. It is better to make bigger or change the location of files than to over mount
