File systems mount to wrong points

We recently renamed a number of file systems and logical volumes on a system. We checked and made sure /etc/filesystems was correct, and could mount/umount them without a problem. We discovered that if we varyoffvg/exportvg followed by an importvg/varyonvg, the file systems now mount to their old, incorrect mount points.

There must be a way to get the vgda to agree with with the LVM and/or odm, but I cannot find it. Does anyone know how?

Re: File systems mount to wrong points

Hey, a synclvodm should do the trick for you after you have renamed the filesystem / LV information.

Re: File systems mount to wrong points

Should, but I tried that on my system and it didn't work. I changed the mount points in /etc/filesystems by editing the file directly. Should I be using chfs -m instead?

Re: File systems mount to wrong points

if you edit /etc/filesystems manually, you are not updating the ODM.

The correct way is to use chfs.

Re: File systems mount to wrong points

Thanks. The combo of chfs and synclvodm did the trick.
