I am getting the following error during AIX 5.3 new installation on a P550 machine:

Method error (/usr/lib/methods/cfgefscsi -2 -l fscsi0 ):
0514-061 Cannot find a child device.

The installation stops at 93% with the error above....looks like it has to do with HBA interfaces....after that, when booting to AIX (and not the CD) the screen below appears:

What do I have to do to finish the installation and configure Network so I can telnet to the machine normally? Could be that the CD media have any problem?

Looks like your media might be too old to have all the required drivers for your system.
Try asking your sales person for a media refresh at the latest AIX 5.3 TL and try again.
What machine type and model is the server and what TL is the media?
What type of fibre adapters are in the system?
