Delay in getting the login prompt

Hi ,

There is this problem of delay in getting the login prompt if tried to connect to the server remotely, or even after connecting to the server after much waiting and logging in,
I tried using the local address after logging into the server, even that is getting delayed to display the login prompt.

this is a LPAR partition.

any help is welcome, thanks in advance.

Check your DNS,IP Settings on target and client machines.
Try to traceroute , ping the target host by name and by IP.
I believe this can help
