Guys , I am planning to clone mksysb of prod system to new LPAR .I do not want to bring over IP /network config etc.. My plan : mksysb to NIM server . restore using NIM - set NIm clinet to remian no after reboot so that it won`t bring over Ip information . I know some people edit bosinst.data and there is option somewhere not to restore device config during mksysb restore, but do not remember where . Does anyone know how to and what to edit so that when I perform mksysb of prod system ,It won`t include IP address ,or during the restore It would ignore network settings ? Thanks Shekhar |

IP info won't be taken - the NIM IP info will be allocated to the new LPAR. IP info will only be restored if you restore to the same hardware as you took the mksysb from. However take care that you have all the device drivers loaded in the old LPAR that you may want to see in the new one, and remember device drivers can change even when feature codes remain the same.
