I've seen that one a time or twelve and it has usually been the power conditioner on the planar board. You'll need to have your IBM CE verify this and replace the planar board. When I'ves experienced it, its always been on p505s, p510s and p520s. I've never seen it on a p550 or higher.

When hardware fails, hardware has to be replaced. There is nothing you, as an admin, can do to fix it. The planar, if I'm right and thats what it turns out to be, is not CSU. And as cautionary advice, these usually degrade so that twice in 25 days will turn into a crash that it will not recover from.

Hi, I saw this problem all the times customers un-plugged the power cables w/out properly shutting down their systems. You might want to try to reboot (maybe pressing the power button 2 times, until the green LED is stable). Normally I can start the server again and clear the error log to turn off the red LED (system attention LED). If your server cannot start, it definitely is a hardware issues and just call CE to your site as FASherMan advised ![]() |
