First of all thanks for all the guys to share their valualbe information and knowledge in this thread. i had some some doughts about making bootable system image, but now it got clarified through this thread.

just for my understanding and clarification.
We need to rename the three boot images as
cd_image_299176.vol1 to cd_image_299176.vol1.iso
cd_image_299176.vol2 to cd_image_299176.vol2.iso
cd_image_299176.vol3 to cd_image_299176.vol3.iso
am i right or wrong? and then right the cd/dvd ?

Also if i am not deviating the topic/thread further, then can anyone clarify the steps required to make a bootable image of system for system restore or installation in tape ( instead of cd/dvd )? if possible through both command line and smitty...
