Re: Minimum hardware to run AIX 5.3

IBM support is not really needed. The reason why I am asking is because I want to get some practice in order to get the IBM certification. So I need a machine on which I can practice all that is required in order to pass the exams.

IBM Certified Specialist - pSeries Administration and Support for AIX 5L V5.2

IBM Certified Systems Expert - p5 and pSeries Enterprise Technical Support AIX 5L V5.3

I really appreciate the input; so far getting this information has been like pulling teeth.

A while ago I contacted IBM and they told me via email to contact another department via their website. When I asked for the number of that department they specifically instructed me to contact them only via their website.

After more than a week and about a dozen emails someone called and I explained the situation to him, that I would like to obtain some used hardware, etc. Supposedly he would get in contact with me but I have not heard anything yet, and this was about a week ago.

I do not get it, I explained that I was interested in getting IBM certified. Companies like Sun Microsystems and Red Hat will constantly harrass you and damn near send a limo and a bunch of exotic dancers to your home in order to get you certified. So what is wrong with IBM?
